Hi,

Ok, when I woke up this morning I found that the network in my house had unexpectedly gone off line. I have determined that the ISP (AT&T- DSL connection) is not to blame by bypassing the router and being able to connect as usual. The problem I'm running into is that none of the router settings seem to be changed (at least it looks like that to me) and the router has worked without a hitch since I installed it a few weeks ago. I have firmware version 1.00.9 and run XP. Can someone clue me in as to what I'm missing?

Thanks,
C

Mine has been doing the same thing, except I have to reset mine at least (sometimes 3 or 4 times) a day. I have upgraded to the latest 1.09 firmware, reset the router (manually and via web) several times to make sure it was "cleared". I have tried disabling the DHCP and manually assigning IPs, but nothing seems to help

two things that might be worth checking:

in the basic setup page there is a setting for Keep Alive : Redial Period
if you arent doing so already, make sure that is selected instead of connect on demand. I configured a v.4 version of the router for a family member using at&t using a keep alive period of 30 minutes.

the router status page has a login status that will tell you if you are connected or not and will allow you to reconnect with out rebooting your router.

Using the above settings, I have been sucessfully managing a router in the central us from the east coast for 2 months and counting.

hope this helps.

Thanks. That seems to have cleared up the isssue. Odd though that it worked so well for so long and then randomly failed. Oh well at least it's functional again.

I am also having the same problem.  I CAN NOT find the option in basic setup for the Keep Alive:redail period on my WRT54GS ver 5.   I must be over looking it.  Can you provide a detail of the location.

thanks

That option is avaliable if you select PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP or Telstra Cable.

I'm on the same situation as you are. Is there any solution for DHCP? I'm having this problem since I upgrade the firmware...

How do you clone a MAC address?  Sorry, but never heard of that process before.  Thanks
