The WRVS4400n, has several KNOWN issues:

- High pitched whine coming from the unit.
- Unable to use FTP with latest firmware
- Wireless radio is unstable requiring the unit to be rebooted regularly.

=======

PLEASE recall this unit, it is obviously defective, and simple tier1 troubleshooting (reboot, reset to defaults, etc) does not, and will never fix these issues.

I even went so far as to buy a WPC4400n PCMCIA adapter, hoping it would allow the wireless radio on this unit to operate effectively; it does NOT.  Even stepping it down to 802.11g only, it is still unstable.

Will Linksys admit these issues and recall the unit or issue a firmware update to make the unit usable - or will you delete this post?  I'm assuming the latter.

I am an IT professional, along with many others of this product, who bought it assuming 'business class' meant something close to CISCO reliability and support, however that is far from the case.

ALL WRVS4400n owners deserve a return or replacment, or do I have to contact my Cisco rep .. ?

I agree with you, and I think your right about what will happen. They seem to enjoy deleting WRVS4400N posts. So much so that it almost feels like they are brushing their problems under the carpet? I have all the same issues as you do as well as other blatent bugs I've found. There had to have been zero quality control with this thing.

I am in 101% agreement!  I have two of these and suffice it to say I have the same issues, other than the whining noise.

I won't say anything negative because they delete my posts if I do. :smileysad:

This product has so much potential!  Lets get em working

I'm in agreement with everybody as I have all the regular issues too. Well, I don't hear any whining noise but everything else.

I think Linksys ought to step up their resolve here or simply refund the units.

I to am an IT Professional. I posted over a year ago and it was deleted within 2-3 days. I purchased this unit for a client and have had problems for the past year since installation. I proposed this solution on the Linksys Business Class pitch. The particular problem i am expiriencing is wireless link stability. the Linksys Monitor says  90-100% link but PC's on the network have issues daily browsing the net. THey are connected to the AP and can browse the local LAN network, just can't browse. Very Weird as 1 day PC 1 next day PC 2 & 4 and so on. WHAT SHOULD I DO? MY CUSTOMER IS GETTING TIRED OF RESETTING THE ROUTER, AND REPAIRING THE CONNECTION. Linksys give us some SUPPORT!!!
Kudos!
