Got a WRT54G connected to a modem an computer in the first room. Want to use another WRT54G as an access point with other computer in second room to connect on the first WRT54G to get access to internet. Unfortunately, when trying to modified Linksys setup on second computer, always got a window with "Management Mode Firmware Upgrade". I did upgrade the firmware but still have no access to the setup!!! What I'm doing wrong ?

Wrong equipment. WRT54G isn't designed for that use. The other end needs to be a WET54G or something else designed for that.

I heard it's doable..but complicated! Anyway, is the WET54G is compatible with Mac (Apple) ? Because I want to install on an old G3 to avoid the airport card which is rare an expensible.

Look like the WET54G is a good option. The router is a a WRT54G version 6. I found a WET54G verion 2... Is that working together ? I mean version 6 and version 2 ?

well if you dont have a warranty on either of your modems then installing 3rd party firmware will allow you to do that www.DD-WRT.com has firmware that will allow youto do it , as I am doing the same thing as you are :smileyhappy: hope this helps, you should be able to follow the site walk throughs

I HAVE A WRT54G ROTOR  ATTACH TO MY VISTA COMPUTER, HOW DO I GET INTERNET CONNECTION ON ANOTHER COMPUTER IN ANOTHER ROOM.

Make the other computer in the other room wireless.

Not sure if my setup matches exactly what you are trying to do, but I am using a WRT54G as an access point. I disabled DHCP and gave the inside interface an address on my existing network. I am able to connect to this access point and pull an IP address off my other router. I did have to connect the WRT54G to my existing network with an ethernet cable since the WRT54G is not a wireless bridge. Not sure what is wrong with your firmware....sounds like you might have other issues.

How do I find and download software for WRT54GV8 (Wireless Router)?  Have lost installation CD which came with purchase???

I've attached a wrt54g router to my main xp computer and dsl modem and want to have access to the internet through out my house it shows up on my other pc but I can't use it.
