I have already installed router on my desk top and filled out all the router name/pass and network security stuff. But when I try to connect my internet with the router, there is no connection. Can anyone help? This is WRT160N wireless router.

Log into your router's settings page - 192.168.1.1

Cable - Setup>MAC address clone>enable>click clone>save settings.
DSL - depends on how you connect (need a username/password, automatic or static)...

Who is your internet service provider? Also try suggestions posted by user if you have a cable connection, or satellite connection.

I have installed the WRT160N and it works with all hard wired computers but when I try to sign on wireless with my laptop I get a "Acquiring Network Address" message.

I'm getting the same problem, it seems to work fine if the laptop has a Wireless N card, but for the others that are Wireless G it just will not assign an IP address.

try changing r. band to wide, w. ch: 5, s.ch:7.. worked w/ my sister..
- of course you need to be in routers admin page for that..
depends as well if you have too much interference (other wless emitting device, or concrete walls in b/w the connection)..

just a suggestion..

This happened to me also when installing the WRT160N.  I went into the router address, changed to ppoe, entered my username and password, and then all worked fine.  Of course, your DSL provider may not be a ppoe.  There are other choices from the drop down menu

I installed the WRT160N router successfully, setting the type of connection (B/G/N/) to mixed. My laptop and wireless printer see the network just fine, but when I try to logon with the laptop, I get the following error message: "The network password needs to be 40 bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ASCII characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal digits." I can't figure out when I go back to the setup of the router which settings need to be changed and to what. The wireless printer can't log on to the router either. Thanks...
