Hi there,
So I have a WRK54G V1.0 Wireless Router running firmware version 1.52
I have been trying to upgrade to version 1.55.02, but for whatever reason I can't.
I followed everything on the help page (http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=4030&p_created=1160108009&p_sid=h8C2-dCi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=557&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTAmcF9jYXRzPTE3MjEsMTcyMywxNzI5JnBfcHY9JnBfY3Y9My4xNzI5JnBfc2NmX2xhbmc9MSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PXdyazU0Zw**&p_li=&p_topview=1) but when I do, it starts for about 5 seconds, and then a message comes up reading

Upgrade action is not finish!!
Upgrade file pattern error.

I tried it using both Firefox and IE, and neither seemed to work.

So I also tried using the Firmware Auto Upgrade Utility that is available on the WRK54G V1.0 Firmware download page (http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1166859938305&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=3830541396B03&displaypage=download#versiondetail)
and I think I was using it correctly, but whenever I tried that one it just came up with a message reading

"Erasing flash... (This may take a long time, please wait.")

and then didn't do a thing for hours on end.

So, in short, I'm stuck with no more ideas- can anyone help?

If it makes any difference, I am running Windows XP Service Pack 2

Thanks in advance!
Kudos!

I'm havin issues here with the same router modle/version. It's not letting me open the same port for anymore then one comp. Says it's overlapping. It also says this if you try to do it in the port triggering section.
I though, maybe if I upgraded the firmware it might fix it, but guess what! THERE IS NO UPGRADE!

The tech guys I've been talkin to for about two hours now are stumped on wtf is going on, and even didn't think there was a version 3 at first. They had to go online to look it up. It was retarded.

So yeah, bump for gl with this. I'm gonna go get a diffrent router brand. lol
Kudos!

We wouldn't have these issues if they would just RELEASE THE FIRMWARE FOR DOWNLOAD!
It's been over a year now, and the firmware still isn't avalible for DL. The firmware that's already in it that is. The V1.00.0 firmware.
Kudos!

Any luck with this upgrade? I have the same router that came with the v1.52 firmware loaded.
The version sticker on the bottom of the unit just says WRK54G (no version following the model)

So... Previous post here suggest that I have a 1.0 router if no version is listed.
So I download the WRK54G_fw.bin file for the v1.0 router, and attempt the upgrade only to be
presented with:

Upgrade action is not finish!!
Upgrade file pattern error.

(That is the error verbatim. Bug linksys about bad grammar, not me)

Why upgrade? I'm trying to get the Cisco VPN software working. A post on the Cisco site
suggests that the Linksys router is messing with the Cisco VPN (See link below). When I
bypass my Linksys and connect my computer directly into the cable modem, the VPN S/W works
fine. Since Linksys is a division of Cisco, you figure they'd test things like this.

Kudos!
