I've had my router for about 2 months now. Last week I lost my wireless connection. After resequencing the modem and router several times, and turning it off for 4 days (we went out of town) it came back. But only for 12 hours. Now I cannot get the wireless portion of my router to show up at all. The WLAN light is on. I am sitting 1 foot away from the antennas. I have reconfigured/ set to original settings/ installed latest firmware. My computers can connect to other wireless networks here at home and away. All computers (2 laptops) cannot see wireless (it disappeared at the same time) Turned off firewalls on computers When connecting with Ethernet cables, the router works fine. Right now I have 4 computers set up through the router by wire and all connect fine. Is my wireless dead? How can I tell? Everything appears like it is functioning other than it cannot be detected by any computer. I will gladly supply any additional info... Please help, and thanks in advance.

My guess is one of two things... If you do a search for wireless networks, and you don't see yours, it could be that your wireless connection / router is toast or You / something, changed the router configuration that disables / disabled the wireless connection setting. Log into your router to see if the wireless feature has been disabled. HTH, Heinz

I use to have a ver #2 WRT54GS never had any problems connecting wireless till mother nature took it out. Replaced it with a ver #7. Since that my wireless connection come's and goes. It can be up allday or go down with end 10 minutes of boot. I have noticed that most of the time I loose the wireless is after a hardwired computer comes online. I have to cycle router off and on to restart the wireless connectons and sometimes I have to reboot the wireless computers. Ver # 7 WRT54GS is lacking. I also Have the latest Bios installed. Still didn't help. I think Linksys hose up something good by trying to make it better.

Ok, so it's not just me or my computers. It worked fine until both of my computers, a desktop and a laptop, crashed within a day of each other. The laptops hard drive somehow got fried and the os on my desk top was wiped out. Both are only 1 month old. Now that Ihave both computers working again, I can't get the linksys to work. I re-loaded the software and it won't even take me to the advisor screen. The icons are on my desktop, but when I click on the icons, nothing. It either freezes or just does nothing. I was thinking this was something that I'm doing wrong, but now I don't think so. It sounds like a problem with the linksys. And before my comuters crashed, I had the same problems with staying connected. m
