Hello all-

I just 'upgraded' my old 54-G to the 160-Nv2...WHEN will I learn to check the boards before buying??  Here's the issue: my trusty 54-G would hold steady @ 54Mbps even with multiple clients; the new 160-N dropped to 36 Mbps (new laptop on the way with an 'N' card), so I went for a firmware upgrade after trying a couple of different orientations without improving the bandwidth.

The firmware upgrade has been hung on 98% for over a half hour...not wanting to ignore the dire warnings of resetting or rebooting until the process has completed...can anyone offer guidance on how to either force completion or painlessly backtrack out of the upgrade?  (I've searched for simlar posts, no dice)

Thanks for any ideas!!

Kudos!

Did you try the Upgrade on the Wired Computer or the Wireless Computer? You should always upgrade the firmware on a wired computer...

No, I must have overlooked that in the documnetation--I was not physically connected to the router.  Eventually, I did a power-down/reset and the 160-N came back up with the original firmware.  Thanks for the tip and the reply, I'll give it a go.

I checked other forums: it seems that the problem with it hanging at 98% is due to trying to upgrade the firmware via an https:// connection: if you connect and upgrade via unencrypted http:// connection, it works.
