I have two computers connect to the router. One is hardwired and the other is wireless. Recently, nearly every time I power up the wireless PC, is indicates that there is no connection and it does not see my router to connect to. To get it to work, I only need to disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for 10 second, then reconnect and all is well in the world again. The wireless PC will see the router and connect without any problem after that, at least for the current day. The following day, I will have to do the same. Why does this happen ever day now and what can I do to correct this? I tried changing the channel from 6 to 11, and then to 1. Neither of the two changes help. Can someone offer a solution? Keep in mind I am not that computer savy, so the answer needs to be fully spelled out. Thanks

Under setup tab, reduce the MTU value to 1364 and click on save settings.Under Wireless tab, click on Advance Wireless Settings tab and Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,RTS Threshold to 2304 and save settings. Power cycle the entire network and then, check the connection. If the above steps does not work then, try to upgrade/reflash the firmware of the router, reset it and reconfigure the router.

The settings have been change per your direction, now let's see what happens. Thanks Scrooge. I'll post the outcome from the changes. (If I have to upgrade/reflash the firmware, reset it and reconfigure the router, I'll need some step by step instructions, I do not know how to do that.)

Update: Yesterday I made all of the suggested changes for the settings. Unfortunately, this morning the problem is still here. So far, I did not take any action in regards to the firmware, since I do not understand how to. (If I have to upgrade/reflash the firmware, reset it and reconfigure the router, I'll need some step by step instructions, I do not know how to do that.) Any other suggestions to correct the wireless situation? If the firmware upgrade is the next step could someone walk me thru those step? Thanks Again

Scrooge, thanks for the link. That is most helpful. Now, one more thing that perhaps I should have said earlier. Each night I shutdown my modem, router and PC since they are all on the same surge supressor. Would this in some way be contributing to the problem I described? A friend suggested that I keep the router and modem powered up 24/7. Once again, thanks for your help.

Download the appropriate f/w version from Linksysbycisco support, put it on a connected computer and execute the file. Follow the instructions. The site tells you which version to get based no your model and current ver number (on the back of your router). Good luck
