I have a PC with ICS turned on and my xbox connected to it via ethernet.  The PC is connected wirelessly to my WRT54g2.  I cannot for the life of me configure my xbox network setting properly.  I once got connected with some network help on the Xbox support page using 192.168.0.2 but i cant forward ports that way to open my NAT. I got the MODERATE NAT warning.

Can someone please help me get this straightened out?  What am I doing wrong?

Kudos!

1. How is the WRT connected to your modem? Through the internet port?

2. If you run ICS on a PC then the PC operates just like another router. You now have two routers chained: the WRT and the PC. Setting up port forwardings on the WRT alone won't change a thing because you must do the same port forwardings on your PC as well.

3. Best recommendation: make it simple. Either run a wire from your WRT to your xbox or get a wireless adapter for the xbox to connect directly. Connecting through your WRT and through your ICS PC to your xbox is simply a mess. Even if you got all ports properly forwarded I won't expect too much stability and quality in your network connections.

4. If you want to keep it as you have it now, you have to setup the following:

xbox: set a static IP address 192.168.0.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1
ICS PC: set a static IP address to your wireless network connection: IP 192.168.1.5, subnet 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1, dns 192.168.1.1.

Next set up necessary port forwardings for your xbox on the WRT. Forward all these ports to 192.168.1.5.

Next setup the same forwardings on your ICS PC. Forward all ports to 192.168.0.2.

If everything is set up correctly and works well it should work. But again: don't expect too much.

Who is your Internet Service Provider ?

How the router is connected to the router ?

Are you able to go online through your router ?

Your modem should be connected to the router on internet port and the computer to the router on Ethernet port. You need open ports on the router for your X-Box.However,if your ISP is DSL then, you need to convert the modem into the bridge mode first then configure the router with PPPoE settings to make your X-Box working...
