Hi When you have PPTP option in the router, that mean you can use tunneling point to point tunneling protocol through the router. You have section VPN,configure that section with 3 ticks(IPSec,PPTP,L2TP),then the clients who dialin the router will must have in Connection Properties " Type of VPN" - Automatic(autodetect what protocol want the dialin point->router - IPSec,L2TP or PPTP ).It should work. Good Luck!!!!!!!
Thanks & Kind Regards ing.George Gochev DSL and Telecommunications Engineer

Hi. I have a similar problem here ( I just installed a WRT54G with basic configuration in my office and would like to connect a station with XP (10.0.0.1) to another network (other XP with PPTP configured) using PPTP. All VPN protocols are checked/enable (PPTP, L2TP,etc). I create a rule in Applications & Gaming/Port Range Forward page with pptp1 1723 1723 10.0.0.1 enable ticked pptp2 47 47 10.0.0.1 enable ticked When I try a connection a box open saying that´s checking my username/password and I receive a time-out disconection. I try to open all ports and put this machine in a DMZ mode, and the same problems occours. I put this computer connect directly to my adsl modem and PPTP works fine! What I need to do in this case?! Thanks in advance. Joka Message Edited by Joka on 04-16-200708:23 PM

Hi I use another topology for this situation. I just put my ADSL modem in bridge mode and let Linksys to work just a unique router in the network. Other way is change the firmware ... but this operation have risks. My best regards. and good luck.
