I follow every step in the setup wizard but the print server is not found. I tried with more than one computer to no avail. My router is a Comtrend 536+
Are there any compatibility issues between router and print server. Do I need a linksys router for the ps to work?
Any help appreciated!!

Hi… I don’t think you need Linksys router for this print server. Your router needs to be a wireless G router. Secondly there should be a DHCP server enabled on it and the print servers should be hard wired to the router to get a DHCP lease. If its hard wired to the router, connect the printer to it and press the reset button it for couple of sec. This should give you a print out with its IP address. Using this IP address you can login to the setup page of the print server and configure it with a Static IP address and wireless settings to make it work with your router wirelessly. Once configured you can uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and reinstall them with standard TCP/IP port configuration.

Thanks for helping!
You say "Your router needs to be a wireless G router."  Does this mean it won't work with my draft N Linksys WRT160N?  Further, you seem to say I should not use the 'Installation Wizard' and should go to a manual installation.  Is that correct?  Here's the info on the print server:
Manufacturer: Linksys
Description: Network Printer
Model: WPS54G-RM
Model Number: Not Available
IP Address: 192.168.1.101
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
MAC Address: 00:14:BF:6C:smileyvery-happy:C:CE
Manufacturer URL: Not Available
Manufacturer Phone: Not Available

Print server worked for a while and the suddenly quit. I have gone to your India service center numerous times and get the identical service every time. No solution, just the same, very polite process, word for word. I now reset the system from scratch each time, obtain a new port ID, etc. Sometimes it works, most often it doesn't. Searching the Internet I get others telling the same tale. I bought the print server in Jan 2007 and have had less than 3 months of use. What can Linksys do for me other then send me back to those very polite people who read their solution procedure off the same guideline every time. Please advise.

In setting up the printserver from the CD, No list of compatible Printr Servers appears. How do I locate the 'set up page' of the print server? and does the set up page prompt me for the IP Address or must this be entered in elsewhere?  Also, my Router SSID was changed, where or how do I change the SSID for my printer?--my Wireless print server printout shows the name of the old SSID

I tried upgrading the firmware from 6046 to 6049.  I select the file "APPJ08.BIN" and click OK.  It asks for confirmation.  The ethernet light flashes for a short while then goes steady.  I waited 10 mins and tried to connect again to no avail.  I power cycled and was able to connect again but the firware version still shows 6046.

Any ideas?

Thanks, David.

Hi, I have printing successfully working from a Vista computer but am failing to set up my Linux (openSUSE 11.0) computer to print successfully.

Has anyone successfully printed from a non Microsft OS?  If so how did you set it up?

Thanks, David.

Just purchased a new HP Computer with Windows Vista.   I've been trying to connect my Linksys Print Server WPS54G using the setup disc that came with the printer server.   I can't get the computer to connect to the printer server, what can I do?   Do I need a new driver because it's under Vista now.   I previously installed this print server on my other computer running Windows XP.
