EDIT 6-26-07 The latest Windows Update containing an Nvidia SATA driver and update Marvell Wireless N driver has solved the problem. If it doesn't work for you - you can still use the fix below. I've found a fix that worked well. If many are sharing my frustration with the 45-60 second sound stutter - this is the only thing that worked. By the way, my Belkin USB N card does the same thing... This is not the best solution, but it works: Connect to your wireless N network Run the command prompt as admin: type the following: netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Linksys Wireless" substituting inside the quotes for your network connection name (typically "Wireless Network Connection" before you log off - or when you first log on, type the same command except change enabled=no to enabled=yes It's a cheap fix, but it solves the 45-60 second stutter in Vista with Wireless N networking. I put a couple of batch files on my desktop to automate this. Enjoy.

Willie: I'm pretty certain this is a USB Wireless N issue with Vista rather than a Linksys problem. I got frustrated and bought a Belkin USB N card and had the same problem. Microsoft's Knowledge base has nothing on this which concerns me that they're not aware. Let's hope the Wireless N crowd screams loud enough for someone to hear.

I thought I was a semi-advanced user ... but I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you talk about enabled=no versus enabled=yes and when to use either of the two. I created two files on my desktop with the strings you talk about and I've noticed that when I use the one with enabled=no, it doesn't work or seem to help at all. But when I run the one with enabled=yes, it seems to resolve the problem. So, can you please explain exactly when and why you talk about 2 different files, one with no and one with yes? I'm sorry, but I must be missing something, probably just like missing the forest because of the trees! Thank you ... and BTW, thanks for the fix ... I did change my system to run the new Marvell driver and also make it a static IP address, neither of which worked. But your enabled=yes seemed to work perfectly. I initially couldn't find anything anywhere about this problem and was literally ready to return my PC tomorrow thinking it was some strange undiagnosed problem ... now I don't have to. I was lucky to find this info at the last minute -- much appreciated for the fix and info. Glennw

Glenn: Here's my batch files (don't forget to right click and run as administrator): enable.bat netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wireless Network Connection" disable.bat netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wireless Network Connection" Include the quotes! To find the name of your interface=, go to the Vista Network and Sharing Center, then about halfway down the page, you'll see Connection. Best of luck, Bob Message Edited by bb1134 on 06-09-200705:08 PM
