When will a Windows 7 compatible driver be released by Linksys? I have been asking this question since the start of RC, and now have the RTM. The MS built-in and Linksys Vista compatible drivers are not compatible. Although they can be configured and connect, the device will drop network connection between 3m and 1h of start. The NIC becomes totally unrsponsive and can only be re-started by a re-boot. Because of this I surmise a driver problem is the cause. Despite contributing to the Win7 forums and many posts, there has been no comment from MS about the problem. There are many users who experience the same condition. Linksys - please acknowledge my request either by stating you have no plans or are working on a solution. Thanks, Chris

Why is it that an Linksys staff member can never comment upon the future and availability of drivers? Many wireless NIC's from Linksys to not work correctly under Win7. Win 7 is RTM right NOW Linksys, and you are still selling cards like my WMP300N without compatible drivers. Do us a favor and have the guts to tell us if you don't plan to offer support and, I can cut my losses and migrate to a more responsive NIC supplier.

It's a right pain this. Unfortuatley 90% of the support staff read off a script and are pretty clueless. Microsoft have the drivers the trick is getting connected first. Here is how to get the WMP300N working on x64 / X86 for Windows 7. Not tried this on Vista. Open Device Manager First go to the Unknown Network Device and right click and choose Update Driver Software. Choose browse and Let me pick from a list of devices. Untick Show Compatible Hardware Choose Atheros Communications Inc. And select Linksys A + G PCI Adapter. This will get you connected. Make sure you can connect to your network and browse the Internet. Then go back to device manager and right click the Linksys A + G PCI Adapter. Choose Update Driver Software. This time choose search automatically for updated software. It should connect and download the WMP300Nv2 software and install it. Once finshed you should have the adapter correctly indentified and voila! Happy surfing... Tobi.

I went through exactly the same drill. After installing Windows 7 on both computers the network was functional but neither computer would not recognize the printer on the other computer. Then I downloaded the driver from Windows update and the network ceased to function. So I rolled back the driver and the network started working again but still no printer recognition. Let's picket the Linksys headquarters. I wonder if Consumer Reports would run with this.
