I have scoured the internet trying to find a 64 bit driver for my WUSB54G wireless adapter. My system is 64 bit based .. running Windows64 xp professional; processor is an AMD 5200 x2 am2 socket...

I have chatted at length with Linksys tech support but they offer little or no resolution to my problem. They say they are working on developing a 64 bit driver.. but they have been saying that for over a year now.

The adapter does not provide any insight into the version or chip set that it uses. On the box all it says is WUSB54G no version nothing..

Ralink supposedly has a 64 bit driver that will work with my adapter if I knew the version/chipset.. Again linksys offered no help in determining the version I have..

Right now I am linked to my WRT54G V2.2 router via an ethernet cable that I ran to the room my computer is in.. The cable modem is plugged into the router as is my wifes computer which is 32 bit based. I suppose I could always switch computers and put the adapter on her machine.. but that means she would have change rooms and this would make her unhappy..:-)

Any help/assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi… I think only version 4 adapters have Ralink chips, others have belkin. So if you have WUSB54G v4, you can try the 64bit drivers from Ralink. Otherwise look for belkin. However in this case you warranty on this product would get void.

I am having the same problems in XP 64 Pro environment running on a Dell dual core Intel 2.6 G system, except that my problem  is even worse--the device manager won't recognize the device except as an unknown USB device.   It only recognized the existence of the unknown USB device after I installed the Gigabyte comm_wbkg_v234005.zip driver.  I guess that I am making a little progress, anyway.    I wish Lynksis/Cisco printed model numbers on the devices.   I am not sure if I have the right model number since this is a 2.4 G adapter.   Any suggestions other than buying  a new wireless adapter from a competitor of Lynksis/Cisco who supports 64 bit?

Well, I just bought this thing and found this thread. I contacted tech support and they told me... to search google. Yep. The associate said they were working on a driver that would be available very soon. Just like they said in some posts I found from 2005. Hey...

It doesn't make any sense. All my other hardware has 64bit drivers. I pay $50 bucks for this darn thing and the company can't even take the time to put out a driver for it. I mean, how hard is it? Do they have to split an atom or something to produce a 64-bit driver?

Linksys... anyone... is there even a beta driver out there that will allow this device to work in Windows XP 64?
