Hi. I reinstalled Windows XP (home, sp1) after a pretty horrible adware infection, and now I'm trying to get my computer's internet connection back up and running. But, I don't have the linksys CD anymore. I'm on a the receiving end of a wireless home network. The card itself says the model is WMP54G but specifies no version. XP is identifying it as new hardware ("Network Controller") but I can't seem to find a way around not having the disk. Anyone?

The setup files in that link flash a small blue window that quickly disappears, and then don't do anything else. I tried using the update drivers function in device manager to search the folder I unzipped the files into, but it said no drivers were found.

Nevermind! Went shuffling through my computer stack again and found the instruction sheet that came with the adapter (still no CD). It said right on the front, version 4. All's well now. Strange that the adapater itself only had a model number. Thanks anyway!

Hi,
I came accross this thread as I am have the similar problem with re-intalling the adapter. The driver downloaded from this site which does not seem to work. It seems to install te driver, but it does not update the driver for the network adapter. When  try to update the droiver via Control Panel/System/Hardware pointing to the folder where I downloaded the driver, it still won't work.
I downloaded version 1, my adatpter is old and there is no version on the lable, so I assumed it's 1.
Any ideas?

I am in the same boat with the previous 2 posters...reinstalling WinXP and don't have a disk for the WMP54G. Although no "version number" is listed on the card, there is an "FCC ID" number...PKW-WMP54GV2. Would the "V2" mean it's version 2?

I have the same problem as many of the above posters.  I figured that the FCC meant it was a ver.2 however when i downloaded the drivers and tried to install nothing happened.  the add hardware wizard also does not recognize the drivers for the device.  I tried ver.1 as well just in case.  I was not however, reinstalling windows, i simply disconnected my antenna and rebooted the computer.  Now, with the antenna reattached i cannot connect.  If any of you have fixed your driver problems any help would be appreciated.

Is there an answer to this question. It seems to be common.
