When  i got home from work and tried to access my media hub it said that it had to rebuild the libraries  due to a firmware updrage.  I left it alone and tried to access it the next morning it gave me a warning telling me that the media server is disabled and to go to configuration to re-enable. When I tried to do that it tells me that the password is invalid.  I tried the default password and the password I changed it to.  What do I do next?

p.s. on the display it says liknsys and below  that  it says unknown....

What worked for me was re-installing the control software on my PC by running the install disc.  It allows you to enter the password and sets that on the hub.  Job done!!

Shouldn't be necessary though in my view, or at least it should warn and give the solution!!!

There might be a chance wherein the firmware upgrade on your end might not have been successful. Try to reset the media hub again and upgrade it back to the latest firmware.

Let us know what happens afterwards.

ok i reset the media hub back to its original firmware and then updated to the new firmware again.  i let the media hub sit overnight and was able to access it the next morning.  everything seemed to work ok and i was able to access configuration.  when i got home from work i tried accessing the configuration and it is telling me again that the password is invalid. this does not make sense.  what happened in the time that i was able to access configuration and the 8 hours i was at work?  the media hub is not accessible to anyone but me as it is locked in my room.  another issue i am seeing is  linksys media importer has stopped copying media to the hub.  the icon is green but it isnt copying for some reason.  i am getting frustrated.  am i the only one having problems with the new firmware?

It's not just you. See the following

I am really starting to get tired of these hack-job updates by Linksys and am seriously considering what my other option may be.

Maybe the mediahub is losing connection to the network due to the DHCP lease time expiration of the router or a loose ethernet connection, both of which could cause the mediahub to somewhat go crazy. Have you tried changing cables or assigning a static ip on your mediahub ? Also make sure that your router has the latest firmware.

I hope this helps.

FTR, I had no issue updgrading my NMH300 from 3.18.4 to 3.18.15.  Media hub was up and running in 15 mins or less after the update.  I have a 1.5TB Seagate disk with about 200GB of video, music and photos.
