Greetings Everyone:

We are using the Gigabit switch SR2016 rack mounted in our data center. While there has not been a pattern of consistency, periodically several of the ports will loose connectivity leaving only a few ports usable. The uplink port appears to stay active (Port 16). If I power cycle the switch, everything goes back to normal. We have seen this problem with Linksys switches purchased at different times.

As anyone seen this before? Is there a way to troubleshoot this down to a specific area?

Thanks for your insight.

- Keith

I'm seeing the same thing. I have two SR2016's that both just developed the problem. It appears that only ports 7, 8, 15 and 16 work (4 right-most ports). I haven't had a chance to test too extensively but will this weekend.

I just did some more testing on my two SR2016's. Only 4 of the ports are working on either: 7,8,15 and 16. Power cycling does not help. The rest of the ports are dead. No lights, nothing. These are both version 2.2 switches. Any thoughts? I'm going to contact Linksys about this. Very odd that both switches developed the same problem.

Linksys is RMA'ing both switches. Hopefully the replacements will be a little more reliable.

I purchased mine Oct 2007, Ver 2.2 and just have the same issue come up.
My Curiosity gets the better here... Is there any relation, Version v.v. time up? Is the replacement later version?
Reverted back to my trusted 10/100 until resolved. Glad I didn't "eBay" it !

Both of my replacements from April have now failed. One of them died completely - no network traffic through the switch. The other allows traffic but is very slow. That's four SR2016's that have now failed. Time to buy something a little more reliable.

Same problem in the last few days. First, one SR2016 dead. Then, couple days later, the other dead. Very strange.

Ahh, here we go.  I'm getting the hang of these boards...

I too have massive issues with this model.  Not one has survived in the field and basically all have the exact same issue.

I was a little perturbed when the support Linksys support guy indicated that these had a 5 year warranty when it's clear on the box that it's a limited lifetime warranty.

Seems to me that limited lifetime is going to bankrupt Linksys if they don't start correcting the flaw in this particular model.

Good news for us, Linksys has replaced every unit that has gone bad.  Bad news is that it's not just one or two, it's every single unit we've sold.

Kudos!
