I'm trying to install a new NSLU2 and get a 300GB EXT3 drive setup on it.
My problem is that in the web-management, when I go to the "LAN" and "System" settings options (under the "Administration" tab), I get an error message: "Error: Fail to get samba information." Therefore, I can't update the "system" settings (when I submit the "system" page, it gives me that error message again and doesn't update the settings).
I received the error with the firmware that shipped with the unit. I upgraded to R23V63 and still got the error. I upgraded to R23V72 (beta) and still get the error.
It recognizes my EXT3 HD (it works on either port), so I don't think that's the problem. I just can't change the "system" information.
It turns out I just needed to click "Restore Default Config" on the "System" page. I guess I had just assumed that since nothing else worked on the "System" page that also wouldn't work, but it did. Hopefully this helps someone else with that error message.
