Help

I have got a wireless access point in our 3rd floor of our guesthouse, but the signal strenght is not good or excellent so i thaught better to put another wireless access point in order to repeat the signal and make it excellent or good,

I configured the second access point as wireless repeator mode, and i put the mac address of that other access which's signal should be repeated, and same name and SSID.

but when i turn on the device, computer get limited conectivity, they can't find the wireless router to get ip ( wireless router acting as dhcp server ), but when i trun off the repeator mode access point than it functions fine.

this access with repeator mode will be without line , will wirelessly repeat the signal of other access point, can anyone instruct me , first time configuring as repeator mode.

we have wireless router G acting as dhcp, and we have access poins in 1st floor, 2nd floor and 3rd floor ( models are WAP54G , V.3 1 ) in 3rd floor i wana put a repeator?

what should i do?
thanks

Kudos!

Using WPA?  Repeating doesn't work for me in this mode... might be the same for you - try using WEP or no encryption to test.  If you haven't already, upgrade the firmware on all AP's to the latest for WAP54G v3.0 -> fw 3.04

well,
The problem is so complicated, if i configure WEP than it interacts with the Wireless Router ( Acting As DHCP Server ) if i don't than it is unsecure network, so finally i decided to configure it as individual Acess point.

Thanks

OK, some experience here.  Just joined so sorry for the delay.  In repeater mode, you can only have 1 hop. You can go router, ap, ap, ap, etc,  You must go router, ap, router, ap.  I think you are trying too many hops.    SRX is great and powerfull stuff.   TRy that!
